- Are the riders bussed back to the start of the ride?
This is a loop ride starting and ending in DeLand. Participants will park their vehicles in DeLand for the week where they will be watched by Stetson and DeLand community police.
- Is there any written information regarding the 2010 Bike Florida event?
A DVD of event highlights, as well as an electronic Rider’s Handbook will be mailed to all registered participants in early February. This will compliment the information on the Website. The registration is all online with Active.com. There is a direct link to the Bike Florida website as well. Ask your librarian or a teenager :) to help you through it if at first you are having any problems.
- Do we actually start cycling on March 27th or is that just a registration day?
There are local rides in the DeLand area that participants can enjoy throughout the day on Saturday, March 27th once they arrive. Since registration will also be taking place throughout the weekend, we will not be departing from DeLand until Monday, March 29th when the rest of the ride will commence. We will be in DeLand both Saturday March 27th and Sunday March 28th.
- Are there any airport shuttles?
Yes, but you will have to make those arrangements on your own. We will have information on our website, regarding vendors, contact info and costs. The major airports closest to the ride are; Orlando International, Sanlando Regional and Jacksonville International.

- What about “Indoor Camping” at Bulow Plantation Campground?
You will need to choose this option during registration in order to have a cabin bunk reserved for you. There is a $10 charge for this option. There is plenty of outdoor camping at Bulow Plantation Campground, however, the cabins are reserved for indoor campers only. At all other locations during the ride, indoor camping is free and requires no reservation ahead of time.
- What about my RV?
RVs will be accommodated by reserving with the individual campgrounds for Monday, March 29 (Bulow Plantation Campground), and Wednesday - Thursday, March 31 – April 1. (Sugar Mills Campground). They have their own registration and fee. There is parking lot space for the High Schools (but NO hook ups). Please call Bike Florida staff to let them know you will be bringing an RV and its size. Thank you.
- What meals are included with each meal plan?
For weeklong riders, the meals that are included regardless of which meal plan you choose are: 1 breakfast and 1 Dinner. This is due to the fact that at the times of these meals, we will be in extremely secluded areas. This will be for the dinner of Monday, March 29th and the breakfast of Tuesday, March 20th. This will be while we are at Bulow Plantation Campground in Flagler. Keeping this in mind, riders can choose one of two options: have the rest of their breakfasts and dinners included, or be responsible for providing all other breakfasts and dinners for themselves. Lunches remain an opportunity to explore the local communities.
DeLand Weekend registrations includes 2 dinners and 1 breakfast for the weekend of March 27th – March 28th. Lunches remain an opportunity to explore the local communities. There are vegetarian/vegan options for all participants available upon request. If this interests you, please be sure to choose this option on the registration form. - Why are some meals included in the registration despite which meal plan I choose?
This is due to the fact that at the times of these meals, we will be in EXTREMELY secluded areas.
- What are the road and trail surfaces like?
We will be riding roads and some trails. All trails are paved multiuse trails and bike paths so road bikes are recommended though we welcome all types of bikes to join us! Wait till you see some of the amazing bicycles that ride Bike Florida!

Cars traveling with the event will need to register vehicles at registration for $35 and receive their dashboard Bike Florida signs, as well as their driving directions for vehicles and site maps for parking.
