Citrus County, Florida

Citrus County is a county located on the west-central coast of the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2010 census, the population was 141,236. Its county seat is Inverness. Its name comes from the fruits grown in the area – pineapples, bananas & oranges. Florida is second only to Brazil in global orange juice production, and the state remains the world’s leading producer of grapefruit. Florida produces more than 70 percent of the United States’ supply of citrus. Citrus County is also considered the Manatee Capital of the World. This is the only place in the world you can legally interact and swim with manatees.
