
Duval County, Florida
Duval County is in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2010 census, the population was 864,263, with a 2019 estimate at 957,755, the seventh most populous in Florida. Its county seat is Jacksonville, spanning more than 840 square miles – the largest city by land area in the contiguous United States and the most populous in Florida. Since 1968, the county government has been consolidated with the City of Jacksonville government. While visiting Jacksonville, visit such sites as The Cummer Museum of Arts & Gardens, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, and MOSH – Museum of Science & History. Fun Fact: The longest stretch of the St. Johns River runs through Duval County – and YES, the river runs from south to north, and NO, it is not the only river that does.
