Madison County, Florida

Madison County is a county located in the north-central portion of Florida and borders Georgia to the north. As of the 2010 census, the population was 19,224. Its county seat is also called Madison. The county is bordered on three sides by rivers: the Aucilla River to the west, the Withlacoochee to the north and east, and the Suwannee River to the southeast.  The rivers provide excellent paddling and fishing opportunities. Take a stroll down Madison’s quaint downtown and historical section with architecture from another time and place, shop at the General Store, and grab an ice cream at the local Dairy Queen.
