Sumter County is a county located in the central portion of the U.S. State of Florida. As of the 2010 census, the population is 93,420. Its county seat is Bushnell, and the largest community is The Villages. It has the oldest median age of any United States county and the highest percentage of residents aged 65 and older- over 50%. This county is home to the Giraffe Ranch, Chocolate Museum & Café, and the Jeep Ranch. Rich with historical & recreational spaces, this area hosts the Sumter Opera House, Sumter County Museum, Homosassa Springs State Park, and adventure attractions such as Swamp Fever Airboat Adventures & River Ventures.
