Suwannee County, Florida

Suwannee County is a county located in the north-central portion of the state of Florida. As of the 2010 census, the population was 41,551. Its county seat is Live Oak. Famous for putting Florida on the map as a tourist destination when Stephen Foster, composer, and songwriter penned the song title “Way Down Upon the Suwannee River”, Florida now hosts millions of tourists per year. Fun fact: Foster never visited the river that made his sing famous (or Florida, for that matter). While in Suwannee County, visit the Suwannee River Museum, hang out on the river banks on white beaches or kayak, canoe (or paddleboard), or grab a bite to eat at some of the top-rated restaurants in the area.
