Includes the tour but does not include the cost of your lunchSt. Petersburg Black History Bike Tour is a 4-hour immersive experience combining biking and an additional talk to learn about the local African American history. Few today are aware of the depth and impact of this important history. The tour takes participants on a 5-mile loop to the actual locations where history began for St. Petersburg’s African American residents. Led by historian Josette Green, the history reveals an understanding of the city’s racial situation today through commentary, photos, and research. The tour is followed by a talk by Mr. Elihu Brayboy “Mr. B” and his lived experiences. It’s a highlight of the tour.
The tour begins at 9:00 am in the parking lot of the Wellness Center at 2198 15th Ave. S. in St. Petersburg, FL. Please arrive early to be ready to bike at 9:00 am. Bathroom available.
